THE ONE PIECE OF ART, organized by ARTBN, is an exhibition-type art project that focuses on a single piece of work by a selected artist and shows the artist's art world in more depth, along with a production video. ARTBN presents PARK CHEON WOOK's solo exhibition, <SUNDAY ON SUNDAYS>, as the second exhibition of THE ONE PIECE OF ART, from March 18 through April 30, 2022.

Through this exhibition, PARK CHEON WOOK focuses on the informativeness of new sculptures rather than on interpreting and installing previous spaces. He dismantles the original object, transforms the form, and reassembles it to design something different. 

It is meant to capture the subjectivity of an honest sculpture with its independence, not in the form of a traditional sculpture that powerfully reveals materiality but in the object itself. It may be a new interpretation of stereotypes, or it is to convert the experience of a general perspective and discover the possibility of combining and transforming the hidden side. Or they go through the process of finding and designing a formative quality that has yet to be newly discovered and bringing it into the category of art called sculpture. A chair, a piece of furniture that we need to sit down and relax in our daily life or office space, increases its functionality and utilization as it is closely related to our everyday life. It can exist as it is. 

The artist boldly puts his own experimental and witty language into it, buys a mass-produced chair with a standardized personality, and breathes new life into it as an object with informativeness and sufficient material for a work of art. The shock of newness that brought Duchamp's ready-made toilet into a thing of art,  "Grow Autonomously" by PARK CHEON WOOK, is at the point where it is fused into the leisurely time of daily life so that it can have a colorful vitality that can shine on its own. In other words, it will stand as a work of art independently.
